Blog Post for Music Genome Project

2. A) Identify your chosen musical genre & B) say why you chose it.
I chose the genre Boy Bands. I chose this because Boy Bands were big before my time and i wanted to learn more about them.

 3. Describe your process...how did you go about finding your songs and information?
I first looked up the most popular Boy Bands of all time. Then I looked on youtube and google for pictures and videos that I i was interested in.

 4. What different kinds of technology did you use to compile your project? [Web tools, Mac tools, etc...]
I used google, google images, youtube, a lot of different websites, garageband, Microsoft powerpoint, iphoto, and imovie.  

 5. What are you good at...what went well for you in this project?
I thought the easiest part of this project was to find bands i was interested in and put the pictures on imovie.

 6. With what did you struggle on this project...what was difficult for you?
I struggles with matching the music with the video.7. Did you decide to use still slides? Why or why not?  [If not, how did you convey your information?
I decided to use still slides and motion slides because i felt that, that would make it interesting and not loose people's attention.8. For what other classes, situations, uses could this type of project be adapted? 
I could use this project for world studies or literature class to present information.
9. What new techniques or technology tools did you use in this project that you've never used before?  Be specific.
I learned how to use imovie.

 10. How did your project use the transformative property of borrowed images, music, and information to comply with the Copyright Law of 1976?[...not just that you cited the information, etc., but how did you transform the music, information, images, etc.?
I turned someone else's information into my own. I changed our the information to fit my topic or genre.  

 11. Would you do another project like this on your own? Why? Why not? 

This project was very, very time consuming. If i had a good amount of time i would.

PND Culture Movies Reflection

I think I did a good job. I tried my hardest to work together and meet all the expectations of this project.

B. What specific tasks and duties did you perform as a member of this team?

I helped interview, cut the videos, make up the questions, and talk to the students and teachers.

C. To what degree did you offer your gifts, talents, and time as a member of the team?

I think i did very good at offering my gifts, talents, and time. I used all of my knowledge with these tools and i didn't give up with it became frustrating. 

D. To what degree did you take action as a member of the team?

Leader, Very Active, Somewhat Active, Had to Be Told What to Do
I think I took action as a very active leader because I was always looking for something to improve and I was giving new ideas to the group.

E. What makes you most proud about your movie and why?

I think Mr. Roy's interview was very important and it made our movie different from the others.

F. If you were going to make any changes to your movie, what would they be?

I would try to make it shorter.

Movie Review Podcast

2. What tools and techniques did you use to create your podcast?
I used garageband and Microsoft powerpoint.


3.  How could you use a project like this in other classes?I could use this for biology class, for an experiment.

4.  In the “real world,” how could podcast projects be used (In what careers/businesses, etc.)? 
If someone one presenting a new medicine to doctors, they could create a podcast.


5.  In this project, what did you get good at doing?
I learned how to use garageband and I became better at using Microsoft powerpoint.

6. What was the most difficult part of the assignment?
The most difficult part was figuring out garageband.

7. How did your project use the transformative property of borrowed images, music, and information to comply with the Copyright Law of 1976? 
[...not just that you cited the information - citing is not enough...tell me how you transformed what you've taken into something new, etc., How did you transform the music, information, images, etc.?
I transformed the music and pictures into my own project. I borrowed other peoples work and transformed it, into my own.

8.  Would you do a project like this on your own?  
I would probably not because I wouldn't be able to figure it out on my own.

9. If you were going to make any changes/improvements on your podcast what would it/they be?  ...and why?
I would change some of the pictures because they came out blurry.

iphoto Name Reflection

- Pink letter I, S, A, etc.
- Letters
- Letters in nature
- Letters in Dance
I chose these key words because these were the letters of my name and they best describe me.

3. What skills did you use/learn in this project?
The skills that I used and learned in this project were how to use iphoto and edit pictures. I also used itunes and google to look up pictures.

4. Describe how you might use these skills and apply them to a real-world situation.
I might you these skills for another project or a job in the future.

5. This was a more creative project than our first 2. Did you prefer it or the more cut and dry assignments in Word and Excel?
I prefer this one more.

I transformed the music and images i used, into information about me. I borrowed images from the internet and put them in a project to describe myself.

Charity letter and mail merge reflection

1. Take a screenshot of your charity letter and add it as a picture to your blog posting.

2. List the name of your business and its charity.
My business is Buffalo Wild Wings and my charity is St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.


3. How did you get the audience’s attention in the first paragraph?
I got my audience's attention by telling them exactly why I am writing this letter.


4. What skills did you use/learn in this project?
In this project the skills I used were how to import pictures, crop pictures, change the font, and i learned how to use a business letter.


5. What was the easiest part of this project? What was the most difficult part of this project?
The easiest part of this project was to change the font. The most difficult part of this project was the mail merge.


6. Describe how you might use these skills and apply them to a real-world situation other than writing a charity letter?
I can apply these skills in the future for an application for a job., if i need to write a business letter.


7. Did you learn something new during this project that you did not know before?  If so, what? 
I learned how to mail merge a letter.

M&M reflection

2. Template - A template is a framework for pages and sites. Templates for web pages work much like templates for Microsoft Word. A template is a form, mold, and pattern used as making a guide to making something.

3. The tools and functions I used to create this project were Microsoft excel, graphs, auto sum button, and toolbox.
4. The skills I used and learned in this project are Microsoft excel, make charts, and format those charts.
5. I added different fonts and colors to my project.
6. Some other uses for a simple excel sheet is math homework or a chore sheet.
